Took the front fenders, bumper and grille off. Things are going well with the help of liquid wrench to loosen the rusty nuts and bolts. The front part of the door jam has some pretty bad rust, but I found replacement skin to have this replaced so I have a solid piece.

Its "ALIVE"
The 68 Ford F100 came alive after sitting dormant for 15 years. What a day it was! My Parents, brother and neices came to visit our beautiful home in S.C. While my Mom had the kiddos out shopping for school clothes, my dad, brother and I decided to tinker with the truck. I already had the distributor out so we had to find its timing from the start. I changed the oil and it poured out like water all over the garage floor. We took the inspection plate off to reveal little rust and to make sure all the lifters, pushrods and rockers were moving freely. We put oil in it, reinstalled the distributor and ran the battery out before it even sounded like it wanted to start. After the battery out of my SUV, a can of ether, and alot of turning the distributor, IT CAME to LIFE. It blew all kind of black carbon and rust out of the tail pipe. The first time it was short lived, like maybe 2 seconds. After the shimer of hope we kept at it until we were able to run a squeeze bottle of gas through the carb and actually created heat throughout the motor. After Chandler got back we acted like we hadn't got it started yet and put him in the Cab to turn over the motor while we poured gas in the carb..... VVVVVRRRRRROOOOMMMM. He had a smile from ear to ear. It simply amazes me knowing this truck has sat for 15 years and we got it started in an afternoon worht of work. Enjoy the pics.

Pics worth sharing
These pics are from just after we got the truck home in our driveway. Chan and Rylea were both very excited about this old truck. They washed and vacuumed the truck in our driveway, a friend of Chan (Shawn) came over and worked on both the trucks side by side. Chan changed the coil, spark plug wires and gaped the plugs "inside" the engine compartment. The first time we showed Jen the engine, her response was "what is missing". So much room, the way they used to build them. Emma even lounges around with the kids while they sit in it and listen to the AM/FM radio. Enjoy the PICS.....,

The 68 Ford F100 has a garage
After the long dreaded cabinet refinish, we cleaned the garage for the project truck to find its home for the tear down. It was a huge chore but thanks to friends with storage and the Goodwill store we cleared over 25 boxes and saw the 2 car garage come to life. We put the truck up on jacks and removed the tires. 15 years of sitting creates alot of area for "Creature Comforts". We removed so many spider webs and spiders it was kinda creepy. I am sure we haven't seen all of them. Yuk!!

THE NEW "OLD" F100
This a project we just picked up three weeks ago. It is a restoration Ford F-100 that will keep Chandler and I busy for the next couple of years. He just turned 14 and I thought it was a great buy to work on and hand the keys over to him on his 16th Birthday. (As long as he can keep his act together) Over all the truck is super solid and has great potential for minimal body work and paint. My initial plan is to lower the ride height a little, put a disc conversion kit on it and redo the body. Currently it has a 240 inline six cylinder that doesn't run. It was a new short block installed that never got completed. No plans at this time to do anyhing more than get it running and make sure the drive train is solid.

Harleyville MX and new Digital SLR camera
We found a local track just down the highway from us called Harleyville Motocross. It is a fairly new track in the area and this was the first time we got to see the gates open and bikes on the track. I decided to try out our new 10.1 megapixel camera on some of the riders to see what kind of quality I could get with different settings. I think the pics turned out great and will only get better with more use of the camera. The camera has more settings than I know what to do with. I sent some of the pics to the operator of the track and hopefully he will use them for his web page. Maybe he will ask me to be the track photographer for races. Who knows??

Altanta Supercross
Chan and I had a boys weekend together in ATL. We left friday mid day and hung out with Professional riders from the Yamaha team that night at a local motorcycle shop in Conyers GA. Chandler bought a Monster hat and got James Stewart's to sign it. Saturday we hung out all day in the pit party with all the teams and riders and watched the race live in the Georgia Dome that night. It was a long day, but well worth it. Chan was way pumped and took alot of pictures of the factory bikes/trucks and some of the riders. He tried to chug a Monster Energy drink like a rock star but came up short. All in all it was a great weekend together. Enjoy the pics

Welcome to High School Sports (A Year Early)
Chandler makes 2 baseball teams in 1 week. We have a potential All Star on our hands. We are so proud of Chandler, he has been working so hard lately to stay on top of his game. He played in the fall ball league as soon as we got to Charleston SC. After the season was up he attended 2 hitting clinics and competed in a hitting league at Pro Level Sports. The big pay off was the news we recieved this past week which was: 1) He has been selected to play on the Pro Level Sports travel team and 2) A call from his future High School (Ashley Ridge) to play on their JV team. The High School coach was anxious to take a look Chan but told us not to get high hopes because the number of kids trying out were around 40. He made it through 2 cuts and is now a part of their active roster. The school is new for this year and we are looking for Chan's team to bring home the first JV trophey for the school. Way to go Chan "da man" !!
